Awesome Ashish

My favorite piece from the entire Ashish collection, this silver sequined dress with a collar of grey felt roses.

This morning Christina and I stopped by our second home, W29 Showroom, for their press day. Not only did we get to see some of our old friends, including designers Margarita Saplala and Karin Rodebjer of Rodebjer, but we also had the pleasure of meeting our long-time jewelry design icons, Roberta Paolucci and Paolo Giacomelli of Iosselliani.  We had such a good time, that we ended up spending two whole hours eating brunch and cupcakes, and chatting away with Shelley, Suzanne and the girls.  We even got to walk away with a beautiful silk scarf from Margarita Saplala's Fall collection, a P.Y.T. broach, and a pair of Maise jeans (thank you guys!), all of which you will see in our future outfits.

Still, we spend enough time visiting W29 to be familiar with most of the collections, and the main purpose of our visit was to take a look at the Ashish Fall 09collection, which just arrived a couple of weeks ago from London.  Known for his constant use of sequins, vivid patterns, and an eye-popping color palette, Ashish has attracted plenty of celebrity clients like Madonna and Tori Amos.  It's the kind of wacky British collection that girls like me dream of having stateside (really, sometimes I feel like Susie gets to have all the fun ).  Christina and I oohed and ahed over every single piece, taking turns trying on our favorites for the camera, and I'm currently hoping that I can place a personal order for the silver sequined dress with the felt flowers.  In the meantime, make sure to check out their current collection at Henri Bendel.

Christina tries on the faded denim motorcycle jacket embellished with clear sequins.

Christina wearing the Grandma sweater patterned sequin jumper, while I wear a sequin adorned sweatshirt with serious shoulder padding.

Feeling very Beyonce in this one-armed sequined leopard print dress.

One of our favorite pieces, a sweatshirt embellished with the profile of a zebra running down one of the arms.

Wearing a tromp-l'oeil sequined tuxedo jacket dress.

Sequined and beaded American Flag shorts---so Nicollette!
