I'm pretty sure that Yara Flinn designs her line Nomia for cool, gorgeous, downtown ladies like herself (she easily serves as her best model), and she counts many of them as fans, including editor Kate Lanphear. This season she infused her signature look with a bit of a tribal twist, throwing shots of deep green into the mostly black and gray color palette, and adding armor-like details at the shoulders and the hips. The end result has an urban warrior feel to it, and balances a sultry edge with a sense of comfort and an ease of movement made for a girl on the go. No fuss, no frills, and just the right amount of attitude.
