Microjewels

L-R: Oscar de la Renta, Anna Sui, and DSquared inspired doll necklaces.

The best thing about having so many creative friends is getting the opportunity to collaborate with them. We have several projects lined up with some of our besties, and currently we are working with our friend Andrew Yang, who makes one-of-a-kind couture dolls called Kouklitas, which I've written about many times before. Andrew has a fifty doll delivery for Joyce Hong Kong set to arrive in August, all based on the Fall 2010 runway shows, and he enlisted us to make some doll jewelry for a few of the looks that they ordered. In exchange, Christina and I will both be getting dolls in our likenesses, and our choice of attire (I'm still debating what my doll should wear--Mary Katrantzou or Alexander McQueen?!). Anyway, here are a few of the tiny necklaces that we made, which were loose interpretations of jewelry from Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang, YSL, DSquared, Anna Sui, and Donna Karen. I can't share the finished dolls yet (I haven't even seen them completed) but they're all about to be shot by a photographer, and once they're released at Joyce, I'll be sure to post the photos. After he completes this order, he has another huge set of dolls to make for yet another world-famous department store, and we'll be sure to help him out on that too--it was so much fun to make these, we can't wait to do it again!
