On Thursday night, we teamed up with our friends from LES shop and showroom International Playground to throw a party for two of their designers, Upstate and Chromat. Music was provided by our favorite friends from Paper Magazine, Drew Elliott and Alexis Swerdloff, who might be newly-minted DJs, but are total pros at getting rowdy on the dancefloor. It was also Christina Via's birthday, and old-school party staples like Michael Musto came out to dance alongside all of the Chromat-wearing caged revelers. However, the real scenestealers were Astrid of Upstate, and Becca and Emily of Chromat, who represented by wearing their own outlandish designs; Becca even wore a florescent light-up caged crown powered by a battery pack hidden in her ponytail! Unfortunately, one of the Upstate designers, Kalen, got sick and couldn't make it to the party, so we'll just have to have another one next season! Christina and I wore matching cages of course! I wore mine with my T by Alexander Wang cape, Thakoon x Target cardigan, H&M dress, leggings c/o YC: Ying Chu, and Barneys New York fur hat. Christina wore hers over her Count Aapo tee.

Thank you to everyone who made it out to our Halloween Party at Anchor Bar on Sunday! We had such an amazing time that we needed all of yesterday to fully recover. I never feel safe bringing my big fancy camera out to parties, but I did get a few decent iPhone photos of the night. I finally downloaded the Hipstamatic iPhone app, which is, no exaggeration, LIFE CHANGING. After some futzing around, I fixed my virtual camera to a setting that makes my crappy camera phone pics look like old-fashioned Polaroid transfers, which I used to make back in high school. I think the fuzzed-out look goes perfectly with our Carnival theme...

Mustache Party

On Wednesday night, we hosted a party at The Classic Car Club to promote the video game Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. All of the classic cars were displayed outside, while the club was filled with video games, car girls (I didn't even know such a thing existed before the event), photo booths, as well as plenty of treats and drinks. We took our turn at the photobooth, where we donned fake mustaches and dressed up in police outfits and race car driving suits. We loved the funny mustaches so much that we kept them on for half of the night. We thought that they would repel strange men from talking to us, but bizarrely they had the reverse effect, serving as a conversation piece for all sorts of creeps, so we eventually had to take them off. Lesson learned: loser guys will hit on anything, even a girl with a mustache. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures that our friend Nicky Digital shot over the course of the evening.

Partytime, Excellent

Me and Christina with the nightlife award. We wore dresses that we made out of Vivienne Westwood fabric we found at Mood, and Vivienne Westwood x Melissa shoes (sorry no full length pictures, we were drunk). The dresses say "Don't you ever kiss me once, kiss me twice!"

As far as days go, yesterday was pretty excellent. In the afternoon, we received a lovely write up from Refinery29 for Triskaidekaphobia, and last night, much to our surprise, we won the award for Best New Party for Butter at The Paper Magazine Nightlife Awards. We won the same prize in 2007 for Six Six Sick, but this time around, we didn't think we had a chance against Lady Gaga fave, Main Man (which ended up picking up the prize for Best Gay Party anyway). When our name was called (they accidentally called the party 66Sick, when it's really called Whipped), I think we were so stunned, that people had to drag/shove us up on to the stage, where mmmbopper Taylor Hanson handed over the little disco-ball wielding Munny.

One of the best parts of the evening was having our friends The Drums perform, stepping up in place of the Ting Tings, who were sick and had to cancel at the last moment. Jon, the lead singer, not only is one of our closest friends, but actually used to be part of Six Six Sick, and took the stage with us when we won in 2007. It made the night that much more perfect, even if they couldn't hang out cause they were locked up in their dressing room for the better part of the night for their standing record of bad behavior (naughty boys!).

Zana's Birthday

I'm so happy that Zana moved to New York, and when I found out it was her 21st birthday, I pretty much insisted that she come out and celebrate with us at our TriBeCa Grand party. She showed up in spectacular Zana style, wearing a leather headpiece that she had created moments before she left the house--make sure to check out her Etsy where she has plenty of leather harnesses for sale. Since we're totally negligent (i.e. too drunk) about photographing our own parties, she thankfully managed to captured a few pictures of the night on her blog.

Last night at 66Sick, love was in the air as we got an early start to celebrating Valentines Day. What can I say, I love love! (sidenote: Does anyone else miss Moschino's scent I Love Love as much as I do??) We layered the white CDG for H+M blouse with a "vintage" 66Sick heart vest, and bottomed it out with pink and black striped tights and my favorite party girl staple-- booty shorts.

Jungle Boogie

Facepaint night! For Let Let's Birthday, lovely facepaint artist Derrick Little helped us nail the jungle theme by giving us each a Lion King style makeover.  Pros: Deters losers and sleazeballs from hitting on you all night long! Cons: Also repels rest of human race (except for the creepy ones), so if you're trying to meet someone, you might not want to work this look. Lucky for Christina and I, we're both in serious long-term relationships, and have absolutely no problem looking semi-repellent (our Sarah Palin Halloween costume had us gagging at each other), especially if its FUNNY.  Cue retarded roaring, snarling, and general gross-amazingness.

Derrick made me up as a Leopard, and Christina up as a Tiger.  I wore a bodysuit and scarf borrowed from Screaming Mimi's and my Iosselliani ring, and Christina wore a 66S zebra print top.

No, that's not my husband. That's David, head handbag designer for Oscar de la Renta by day, and dancefloor terrorist by night.  He nearly bit off half of my face, in addition to ripping open his Dior Homme shirt, and evoking the ire of our bouncers.
