Good jackets and coats are essential to any wardrobe, and Nonoo spent the last five seasons concentrating almost entirely on perfecting the ultimate jacket. For Fall, designer Misha Nonoo is branching out and expanding her collection to include a full line of ready-to-wear based on the same classic silhouettes and immaculate tailoring she uses to construct her jackets. Nonetheless, the statement jackets serve as the ultimate focal point for the entire outfit. Inspired by the heritage of aristocracy in her home country of England, Misha transformed shapes associated with the iconic British countryside into more contemporary styles with slits at the elbows, swaths of chain fringe, and accents of shearling and leather. I was lucky enough to receive one of the chain-trimmed wool jackets as a (totally undeserved!) Christmas gift from my best friend Ashley, who works doing Nonoo's sales, and I can testify to the perfect fit, and gorgeous workmanship. Not to mention the incredible warmth. This season I have my eye on the tailcoat; if it's as warm and snug as my other Nonoo jacket, it's definitely a worthwhile investment.
