Following Christina's longstanding obsession with Etsy, we've decided to launch a Six Six Sick Etsy shop featuring smaller pieces of jewelry inspired by our main line, Triskaidekaphobia.  The capsule collection embodies the same sense of strange beauty, and exploration of the fantastic encompassed in the main collection, while also touching on a sense of nostalgia and a loss of innocence.  Prices start at $30 for a single buckle ring, and nothing on the site will be over $100.

In other news, I also recently got addicted to Instagram.  Yes, for better or for worse (actually most definitely for worse--while my husband's been away I've taken to eating meals in front of my computer) we officially spend 95% of our waking lives online.  Follow us at @sixsixsickgirls.

Back in the New York Groove: Two Great Sales for this Weekend

Triskaidekaphobia Buckle Ring

After a long Swedish winter, I'm finally back in New York, and arrived just in time for the beginning of sale season.  First off, Triskaidekaphobia and Arms and Armory will be participating again in the second edition of Pop Souk, Ladyfag's market for downtown designers and nightlife kids.  Legendary designer Pam Hogg will be the special guest, selling a selection of limited archival pieces from her collection.  The event will take place from 12-6pm on Saturday, May 12th at Greenhouse on 150 Varick St.

One of my favorite online retailers, Fabricly, will also be hosting a massive warehouse sale this week.  From Friday to Saturday, they'll be selling pieces from their great selection of emerging designers, including Stylestalker, Mary Meyer, and Species By the Thousands, for up to 90% off.  The sale is at 30 W. 18th St, and you can find more info here.

Holiday Bling Bling Bling

Holiday season is full swing, and we're celebrating with two sales: one in New York, and one online for those of us who can't be in New York for the holidays (myself included :::SOB:::).  This Friday, we will be selling Triskaidekaphobia pieces for at least 50% off the retail price, alongside some of our other favorite jewelry designer friends: Bijules, Chris Habana, and Arms and Armory.  If you can't make the sale, we are also currently participating in Chictopia's 12 Days of Chic.  We're offering selected pieces from our store, with special discounts on certain items.  Shop for yourself, or if you're feeling generous, pick up a gift for someone else!

Yesterday afternoon fabulous freaks from all corners of the city descended on Hiro Ballroom for the first ever installment of Ladyfag's Pop Souk pop-up market.  We were there selling both Triskaidekaphobia and Arms and Armory alongside some of our favorite nightlife and daylife friends, and I have to say it was definitely the most fun collection of bright new talent, dirt cheap designer finds, out-there outfits, and of course, straight-up random realness/weirdness.  Chris Habana was there selling eyeball necklaces alongside antiques, Chromat was peddling outrageous cage gear, Patricia Field set up a booth full of candy-colored glitter wigs, and half naked men sauntered through the stalls modeling three-foot high feather headdresses.  Thank you to everyone who stopped by. We can't wait for the next one!

I know what you're doing this weekend...

I know it's only Tuesday, but for those of you who like to plan your weekend in advance, there are two events going on that are worth stopping by.

The first is an event that we will be participating in on Sunday afternoon at Hiro Ballroom, Pop Souk. Conceived by the inimitable Ladyfag, who ran a vintage shop in her previous life, the pop-up market will feature nightlife personalities and fashion fiends selling their designs, their closet castoffs, and even their baked goods. We'll be selling Triskaidekaphobia Jewelry alongside our friends Arms and Armory, Chrishabana, Chromat, Telfar, Patricia Field, and Ying Chu (and many, many more).  There will be a one-day-only discount of 50% off retail.

Now that I've made a completely shameless personal plug, I thought I should also let you know about the Fight Like A Girl Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness at Slope Suds in Park Slope.   As some of you might know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and Slope Suds is participating in raising money with an all day event featuring a bake sale, a raffle, personalized gift bags, and discounted skincare services. All proceeds raised from the event will go to breast cancer research.

Triskaidekaphobia Fall 2011 Lookbook

Finally, our Triskaidekaphobia Lookbook is done!  This season was inspired by high school memories, keepsakes, and friendship/promise rings, Sweet Sixteen parties and Bat Mitzvahs, and our favorite song lyrics and quotes. We have two necklaces made of pennants, one which says "LOVE" on one side and "FEAR" on the other, and another which says "HIDE" on one side and "SEEK" on the other. We also have a banner that says "you can be my silver springs" from the Fleetwood Mac song "Silver Springs," and another banner which says "I started a joke which started the whole world crying" which is from the Bee Gee's song "I Started A Joke." The collection will be arriving in stores shortly, you can view our full stocklist here.

CALLING ALL PANDAS, MONSTERS AND ZOMBIES

In case you haven't heard, the Nicola Formichetti store opened in the middle of fashion week, with a big ol' steamy party full of assorted pandas, monsters, and zombies, all hoping to catch a glimpse of Nicola.  Launched as part of BOFFO's Building of Fashion program, Nicola collaborated with Gage/Clemenceau Architects to build the mirror-covered space, which looks a bit like an imploding Bucky ball. It also resembles the famous Telephone Hat that Lady Gaga wore in the Telephone music video, which happens to be on prominent display, along with several other infamous Gaga outfits.  As if being surrounded with a million reflections of yourself wasn't overstimulating enough, there are strobe lights strategically placed around, so the entire interior is constantly flashing and reflecting a trillion watts of lights. Obviously not built for the seizure prone.

Anyway, Christina and I are really proud to have Triskaidekaphobia on sale at the store, alongside some of our besties like Chrishabana and Zana Bayne.  The store is only open until September 21st, so hurry down to check it out before it all disappears!

Triskaidekaphobia Lookbook Preview

This past Thursday, we shot our Triskaidekaphobia Fall lookbook with our dear friend and favorite feisty blogger, Lulu Chang. Lulu has coyly been hinting at a move to New York for the past year, which is yet to happen. In the meantime, we have to settle for quick glimpses when she comes over for her business jaunts. This time, we really made Lulu work, putting her through an eight-hour shoot that had her climbing, perching, and tilting dangerously off of anything high up and unsafe that we could get her on top of. We even had the misfortune of all getting caught in a flash thunderstorm which drenched us to the bone, in addition to ruining half of our electronics. Thank you Lulu for being such a good sport, getting soaked, and taking a tumble or two! Bijules and Triskaidekaphobia Trunk Show and Sample Sale at EVA

This Thursday we're teaming up with our girl Jules from Bijules for a Trunk Show and Sample Sale at one of our favorite downtown stores, EVA (355A Bowery). We will have pieces from the new Triskaidekaphobia Fall collection on hand for pre-order, as well as items from previous seasons on sale for about 50% off of the original retail price. In addition, there will be select discounts on items throughout the store. I know NYFW is in full swing, and I already feel hungover and beat, so I really have to give a big thank you to everyone who took time out of their crazy schedules and stopped by our Triskaidekaphobia Valentines Day Party at Screaming Mimi's last night. I hope you all got their fill of Kumquat Cupcakes and pink champagne, and had a chance to sit down with Michael a.k.a. One Line to Live for a palm reading. Although I've been waiting for what seems like years to get my palm read by him, his table was understandably mobbed the entire night, and alas I'll have to wait for my turn another time. If you didn't make it last night, make sure to stop by the store, all the jewelry will be up for the rest of the month.
