Holy Ghost!

Christina wears a Comme des Garcons x H&M blouse, vintage lace vest from Screaming Mimi's, Six Six Sick lace dress, Anna Sui skirt, H&M bloomers, bobby socks, Payless sneakers, and pearls from the district.  I wear a Comme des Garcons x H&M blouse, Ripcosa bralette, Philip Lim 3.1 bustier top, Six Six Sick lace dress, vintage eyelet linen skirt, bobby socks, Marc Jacobs flats, Showpony headband, vintage necklace, and pearls from Gerard Yosca and the district.

This past Thursday Christina and I dressed up as ghosts and headed over to the Williamsburg shoreline to do a photoshoot for Joshua, and the upcoming issue of his zine.  This basically involved piling everything white and lacey-looking that we owned on, which came out looking kinda Victorian, and kinda like Tao by Comme des Garcons Spring 2007.  Joshua had originally wanted to shoot at a cemetery at sunset, but all of the cemeteries in New York are all really far out, so he decided to set us on the rocks by the park off of N. 8th St and Kent Avenue.  Coincidentally, Ji also did a ghost shoot at a similar rocky beach setting, which she also posted today.  I guess insane Asian girls think alike?  Actually neither Christina nor I can really take credit for the location of the shoot since it was all Josh.  The results of the shoot won't be out for a while, but Josh was kind enough to take a few shots of us on my camera.  We were so enamored by our outfits, that we even took a few pictures of ourselves beforehand at my favorite Williamsburg sweet spot, Penny Licks, which has that perfect old-fashioned candy shop feel about it.  Here are the results, which are pretty goofy since we both make ridiculous models and couldn't stop breaking out into laughter unless we were looking directly at our own feet.

Rainy Day Woman

Elizabeth and James distressed tee, Luella x Target shorts, Chloe heels, Alexander McQueen scarf, Miu Miu bracelet, Devaki hat, Antti Asplund necklaces, Iosseliani ring.

For some reason, recently I've had spectacular luck winning other blogger's contests.  About a month ago I won this Stella McCartney Red Nose tee from Kit, and this week I just won an incredibly comfortable Elizabeth and James tee from The Stiletto Effect's contest with Chick Downtown.  They were the only two blog contests I've ever entered, and somehow against all odds, I won both?!  Anyhow, we will be having a contest on here that we will be announcing next week for our own blog readers, to share some of the love.  Obviously you should enter, because somehow the chances of winning are actually quite high, as proven by my recent luck!  In the meantime, I haven't taken this tee off.  It's perfectly distressed and comfortable, like I've owned it for a hundred years, and the peachy color puts me in the mood for spring.  I wore this outfit yesterday to run errands in the district with Christina, in spite of the torrential downpour outside.

Hercules and Love Affair DJ Set Tonight!

Hercules and Love Affair's video for Blind

For the past week, I've been incredibly excited about the Hercules and Love Affair DJ set that will be taking place tonight at Webster Hall. For those of you who still haven't heard their ridiculously catchy band, whose members include Antony Hegarty from Antony and the Johnsons, as well as our friend Kim Ann Foxman, do yourself a favor and check it out ASAP on their Myspace. It's really awesome to see Kim Ann Foxman doing such a cool project, and before Hercules and Love Affair, she worked as a DJ who spun at Six Six Sick numerous times, in addition to being a sought after jewelry designer. Her jewelry mainly features family crests, seals, and shields, and while Kim Ann says that she's still going to try and continue designing her line, she has less and less time for it due to the increased success of the band. Here's hoping that she continues, but in the meantime, you can pick it up at Opening Ceremony and Oak.

Hercules and Love Affair. L-R: Antony Hegerty, Nomi Ruiz, Andy Butler, and Kim Ann Foxman

Necklaces from Kim Ann Foxman's jewelry line, which consists mainly of family crests and shields.
